How to Play Snorlax in Pokemon Unite
Snorlax’s Moves
Tackle
Tackle serves as both Snorlax’s big fighting tool as well as its secure, dealing high damage, providing a knock up when hitting enemies and giving you a free boosted auto. It has an area of effect upon hit, but can be stopped by targets hit, making Tackle bodyblockable.
Rest
This move is a sleeper. Rest allows Snorlax to heal during battle or out of battle, making it able to stall out fights while drawing focus and save berries during early game by healing without consuming them. Rest also makes you a solid object, allowing you to block off all players and wild mons from passing. Rest also grants unstoppable which is often useful.
Early Game ( Heavy Slam Tank Sets )
Your main goals are to secure farm to make your lane partner strong and to stop enemies from getting any EXP. Tackle to secure and bully, don’t trade too many hits with autos and always Rest when you’re not busy. If you can Tackle an enemy and the farm at the same time, do it early and you can secure for free with your boosted auto.
Snorlax’s Unite Move – Power Nap
This move is a sleeper. Power Nap is a strong defensive and offensive option in team fights. Snorlax’s Unite move is one of the best Unite moves to mash when you’re in danger, granting CC, great healing and activating Buddy Barrier. This move can be used offensively when engaging on multiple opponents, since it has a large AOE on the stuns and makes you impossible to KO usually. You can recast this move to flip over and get another knockup, cancel it with Heavy Slam (or Flail), or recast late to wake up slightly sooner.
Heavy Slam + Block
Heavy Slam things
Heavy Slam is a dash with big range, big aoe and big cc. This move does everything that a tank wants to do; It engages and peels well and the threat of it allows you to make a lot of space. This move combos very well with Block or Yawn, so hitting this move often guarantees even more CC. This move is threatening even at long ranges because you can Eject Button during your Heavy Slam to go very far. Heavy Slam also provides great mobility to Snorlax, allowing it to run away (over walls,) rotate quicker and catch opponents.
Block things
Block is an amazing move when paired with Heavy Slam. It stuns in a wide area in front of you, shoves opponents, gives you a huge shield and makes you unstoppable and does Snorlax’s taxes at the cost of losing 30% movement speed. You get a ton of value when using this move after Heavy Slam; This often gives you the choice of where to push the recently pancaked opponent(s). Pushing opponents away from your team gets rid of any danger, pushing enemies into your teammates is a sure way to prevent them from escaping and pushing opponents into walls may lead to repeated stuns unless your opponent uses a dash to get out. Be careful with suffocating your opponents against walls, because if you squeeze them too tightly, they might phase through Block. The shield this move provides should not be underrated. It provides Snorlax with a much-needed response to poke and tank shred, don’t be afraid to use this move just for the shield.
This move is amazing at keeping opponents away from objectives, keeping them away from your backline and defending goals. Block can also move an unclaimed Regieleki, allowing you to stall it for a long time or even infinitely with X Speed and a flux zone.
This move can be safely picked over Yawn in 95% of cases when in doubt of what to do.
