MOVESET 2:
Hexgar specifically is another spell spammer that becomes amplified so much by cdr, PARTICULARLY BLUE BUFF that it cannot be ignored. The reset on Hex is lowered to almost nonexistent levels, and he is able to press Hex so quickly that his dps goes through the roof and, more importantly, also gives him more i-frames to be VERY hard to punish. He handles top picks that have constant damage like Glace/Zoro/Zacian well, and can literally kill people on pad with stacks. He is an absolute terror.
Triple glasses most dps, but last pair of glasses is swappable with Spoon for very comparable damage without stacking risk, as dictated by playstyle.
With the nerf to black emblems and the introduction of blue buff the value of fully committing to ampbell is not needed, and the burst is more favorable. SAS/Wise as usual for full scaling. With how spammable Hex is you can also fit a TON of procs into an Amp window if you choose to go for a oneshot build (though this requires you to instantly double-activate your ult to make use of the 4sec window, which is not always possible.
Basically same gameplan as BallEater, except you’re more effective at 5 than having to wait for 7, can contest first birds and gank much better. Hex doesn’t do quite as much upfront dmg as BallEater, but it’s much simpler/easier to grasp gameplay that a good portion of this playerbase still has no idea how to handle.
Burns objectives relatively well as well, and spreads Curse debuff very well from Sludge tick dmg and Hex high uptime output. The constant debuff pressure makes recovering from his onslaught very difficult.
Another thing to keep in mind is that Hex is also a dash all on its own, and does not need to be used on a Sludged target. You can use it to gapclose, get over a wall, or just get away when needed as well. It seems the Hex spam army has made the connotation hard to break and made a lot of people forget that it is in fact its own move! Level up!
