Held items stay the same regardless of moveset, but Battle Item changes based on which moveset you’re taking.
Held Items: Muscle Band, Scope Lens, Charging Charm
– All three of these items make up the standard ADC build. Muscle Band offers some extra % remaining HP damage on your auto attacks while giving you some extra attack speed.
– Dragapult’s high crit rate offers a lot of value for Scope Lens, especially on AoE autos that splash damage can also crit.
– With Dragapult’s constant movement to get good positioning and never-ending autoattacking, he builds up Charging Charm with ease and allows for a ton of procs. In addition, with Phantom Force’s passive permanent atk stacking feature, his Atk stat is huge and makes the procs really smack. This helps him secure kills much faster especially when popping out of stealth.
– Dragapult is really great at spreading Curse effect to multiple targets with basics. When your boosted auto meter is full, your autos do AoE splash damage, which makes for great utility in applying that debuff in groups.
Battle Item:
Full Heal for Dragon Dance
Eject Button or X-Attack for Phantom Force.
– Full Heal is the main item of choice for Dragon Dance. Even a very small stun or shove can stop your Dragon Dance and put you in a horrible position. Full Heal remedies this. Dragon Dance is also a decent mobility option in of itself, which lets you be able to get by without the positioning value that Eject offers, although it’s still viable on this set.
– Due to a lack of reliable mobility with the Phantom Force build, Eject Button is very nice for getting those quick repositions to keep yourself safe and pumping out auto attacks.
– X-Attack is also quite good with this build, as it can often be reliant on bruteforcing out a ton of rip damage in a short amount of time before it gets dove or people get out of range. If you’re going for a stealth assassin angle with Phantom Force, increasing your damage output is important for securing kills. X-Attack facilitates all of this.
About Boosted Auto Attacks:
Unlike most other characters that do a boosted auto attack every third auto, Dragapult has to fill a bar by hitting attacks to start getting boosted autos. It takes 8 instances of damage or being in Phantom Force stealth to build this up and it starts depleting rapidly if you don’t do any damage for 3 seconds. Boosted autos also have a little bit of splash damage, so that’s neat.
About Dreep and Destroy:
This is a pretty unique Unite Move in terms of how it functions, as its essentially more of a third move instead by having a normal move’s cooldown and being able to have 2 uses in reserve. It’s a sure hit with good range that sends out 2 Dreepys. You can’t manually select your targets, but the Dreepys will track down the lowest HP targets and both Dreepys will hit the same target if only one person is in range.
It deals fairly low damage, but has a sizable 10% missing HP damage bonus that makes it best suited for quickly finishing off low HP enemies and securing objectives. When securing objectives with it, try to position yourself to keep as many enemy players out of the range as possible to make sure the Dreepys target the objective.
Its unite buffs are pretty tiny. 10% max HP shield and 10% movement speed bonus is pretty minimal and not what you’re usually using the move for. Also worth noting that it has much longer internal cooldowns for Buddy Barrier and Energy Amp than other characters, which is why those items aren’t recommended on this Pokemon.
